The PSNC, NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE&I) and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) have reached a deal in line with the five year CPCF plan.
Some key updates include two new advanced services and the expansion of the New Medicine Service (NMS).
From 1st Sept pharmacists will be able to offer the NMS provision to patients initiated on treatment for an expanded range of conditions and have flexibility to offer the service to the patient’s carer/parent where the patient is unable to provide informed consent.
The two new services being introduced are the new Hypertension case-finding service starting from 1st October 2021, with details still to be finalised and a Stop Smoking service which will be commissioned from January 2022, with details and support materials available on NumarkNet in due course.
