eXroid patient pathway
If the customer is deemed to be suitable, eXroid will get in contact with them by phone or email and they will then be booked into their closest or preferred clinic at a time that suits them.
The treatment itself consists of a small probe being placed directly on to the haemorrhoid, the Doctor will then pass a small electrical current (up to 16mAmp) which triggers a chemical reaction which seals off the blood vessel feeding the haemorrhoid. With the haemorrhoid being starved of its blood supply it begins to shrink. Occassionally, more than one treatment may be required to complete the process and seal the supply of blood vessels.

Customer Journey
- The Pharmacy will promote the treatment in store and positively engage customers purchasing OTC solutions to treat haemorrhoids.
- Customers will speak to the pharmacist for advice and an initial consultation to assess suitability for treatment (see referral form)
- If the customer is deemed suitable for treatment, they will be referred to eXroid by the pharmacy staff.
- eXroid will follow up the referral with the customer and book them into a local clinic for further assessment of suitability for the eXroid treatment.
- The customer will receive a call prior to the appointment for a COVID-19 screening.
- The customer will then attend the appointment, where they will be met by the Consultant who will perform the consultation, examination and treatment, a chaperone will also be present.
- The customer will then be sent out post-treatment care notes written by the consultant explaining observations taken before, during and after the treatment and a GP notification letter.
- eXroid are available to help with questions, and a follow up within a month of the appointment to assess the customers changes in symptoms.
- eXroid will remunerate the pharmacy for all referral and treatment activity that has occured with month, with 2 weeks of month end.
